Discipline comes from the Latin word “ discipline “ which means disciple. A disciple obeys his preceptors even at the cost of his own life. So, discipline is obedience to the rule format for the regulation of human conduct.

From the haven above to the earth below, discipline reigns supreme. The earth, the moon, and the stars move around the sun not by first and stars but according to certain rules. Even the lower animals are discipline. The life bees in a hive are very discipline. All the bees obey the queen bees. Ants are also discipline. They lead their life a disciplined way.

In every house, there is a sort of government. All the members of the house obey the rules of the family. A discipline family leads a happy and healthy life.

Discipline is found in the human body. The various organs of the body cooperate with one another and are the discipline of the growth and development of the whole body.

Discipline is strictly maintained In games and sports. A player has to show his petty selfishness to the greater interest of the team.

Discipline is more necessary in the army. It is part and parcel in the army. Here a moment's hesitation may mean death. The difficulty, danger, and death can not deter a solder from carrying out the orders of his commanders though the may be unjust and wrong.

There’s not to make a reply.

There’s not to reason why.

There’s but to do and die.

It is the educational institutions from where a man learns discipline. A student has to observe the rules of the institute. He has also to obey the orders o his superiors, show respect position will be nowhere.

In any organization social, political, religious, economic and educational discipline for its growth and development.

Discipline is necessary for a state and for a whole nation for its prosperity and development. Discipline is a precious treasure for the growth o the whole human society. Life without discipline means life full o chaos.

Hobby means one's favourite occupation but not one's main business. It may not bring him money but it gives him joy and pleasure. A man must have a hobby for a sound main and sound health. A man can not enjoy his leisure without a hobby. So it is necessary to enjoy life.

I am a student. I have a hobby. My favourite hobby is gardening. It gives me much pleasure. I have a garden In front of my reading room. Whenever I get time, I work in it. I loose the soil with the spade and weed out the grass. I water the plants regularly. I also put a fence around my garden so that cattle or naughty children cannot do any harm to my garden. In the morning my heart leaps up with joy to see my garden full of various flowers. They spread a sweet smell. The garden also looks very charming.

It has improved my body and mind. Before making this garden I was a boy of ill health. I did not feel hungry. I lost my taste for food. Day by day I became weak. I started the garden to have sound health and my health, in fact, improved.

Every day I work in the garden at least for two hours. As a result of it, my blood runs well. The beauty and sweet smell of different flowers make me jolly. On holidays I work more In my garden. When my friends come to our home, I take them into my garden and show them various flowers. They become very glad to see my garden and thank me.

I also grow various kinds of vegetable in one corner of my garden. My mother becomes very happy to have a vegetable. She prepares delicious dishes and serves for our family. This also gives me much pleasure.

Thus my hobby is a grad source of joy and pleasure. It relives me to form my routine bound work. It helps me forget sorrows and sufferings. I make my body strong and mind jolly.

International Mother Language Day.

Every nation has some achievements that they can take pride in. Our language day is our national event and achievement. But the mother of pride for us is that this national event has crossed our national boundary and become universalized. The international Mother Language day is the recognition of our language movement and the heroic sacrifice of the language martyrs by the international community. Now, after the recognition, our language day is observed globally as International Mother Language Day.

February 21^st is observed as the language day. This is the culmination of a series of protests and events that took place between 1948 and 1952. After the independence of Pakistan, the ruling authority of West Pakistan recognized Urdu as the state language of Pakistan in 1948 and tries to impose it on the Bangla speaking majority people. Not only they also denied the demand of the Bangles for the recognition of Bangla as the state language.

In 1952 protest erupted throughout East Pakistan against the imposition of Urdu and for the recognition of Bangla as the state language of Pakistan. The ruling authority imposed section 144 all over the country as the protest grew stronger. However, when student, politicians and general masses brought out a procession. As a result, Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Barkat, Shafiq met martyrdom. Finally, Bangla was recognized as the state language. Since them, the day is observed throughout the country with solemnity and due homage.

On 17 November 1999, UNESCO, a specialized organization of United Nations recognized our language movement and sacrifices of the Martyrs. They declared that UNESCO would observe the day internationally. Since 2000, the international mother language day is being observed all over the world. The recognition by UNESCO and the observance of the day by the international community has increased our national glory and uplifted the sacrifice off our language martyrs. Through UNESCO recognition, our language day has got international status.

The recognition of our language day and the proclamation of the observance of the day internationally in very significant. UNESCO’s recognition is not simply a recognition of our language movement, but it recognition that it is the birthright of every nation or race to speak in their own language. The proclamation also said that this recognition would help to preserve all the languages of the world, and that diversity of language is important to maintain cultural identity and distinction.

Since 1952, the 21^{st of}February is observed as the language day in our country. We remember our martyrs, their sacrifices and pay homage to the heroic souls who laid down their lives for the cause of our mother tongue. We have erected monuments ( known as Shahid Minar) in remembrance of them and on 21 February we offer flower wreaths and stand silent in honor of them.

However, the importance of 21^st February and its observance lies elsewhere. it sows the seed of our liberation war. And importantly, the language movement teaches us that we have to rise for achieving our rights, for establishing our place of honor and dignity in the world. It teaches us not to bow down to any oppression. It also inspires us to sacrifice our most treasured thing for the sake of the country. So the importance of international mother language day is very significant.

We are the only nation of the world to sacrifice lives for the mother tongue. International mother language is a glorious recognition of our history and our achievement. International mother language day highlights the importance of linguistic identity and variety. We are really proud that we have achieved something that has got global acceptance.

CORRUPTION IN BANGLADESH

In our recent political history, corruption has become a buzzword due to its all pervasive existence in all our public sector and even in private organizations. Corruption has always been a constant phenomenon in our country. But recent drives against corruption and a huge public conscience and consciousness against it have given it a new moment. Bangladesh has been branded as the most corrupt country in the world for consecutive four years by transparency international. So, both local and international pressure and call have created an urgency to fight and curb corruption in Bangladesh.

Corruption can political in simple terms as unethical and unfair practice or means to draw any profit or benefit that goes against the law and harms other's interests. In broad terms, corruption includes abuse of power, distortion of standard practices and principles, bribery, favoritism, extortion, fraudulence, deception and illegal practices whereby a person or group draws personal benefit damaging others or country’s interest. In our country corruption has been so rampant that it has become a matter of fact a common affair. No govt. service or work could be done or is available without corruption.

Corruption is a social evil. Moral degradation and ethical decadence is the main cause of corruption. People's unscrupulous activities, avarice, and greed to amass wealth, materialistic attitude of life all these breed corruption. The capitalistic economic system, unequal distribution of wealth, Excessive gap between wealth and poverty, Economic insolvency, high living cost, unemployment, etc . are the social and economic causes of corruption. Adding to this poor administrative system of govt. and lack of law and order on society also contribute to spreading corruption.

Corruption has entered each and every core of our administration, public governance, office, and organization. In a poor and underdeveloped county like Bangladesh the effect of corruption in the economy and in politics are very devastating. If govt. officials are corrupt, people do not get good service for them. If politicians and policymakers are corrupt, it affects and retards the country’s overall development. By doing corruption, a section of powerful people amass huge wealth and lead a very carefree and luxurious life. This creates a social gap and discrimination. Administrative and institutional corruption creates depression and grievances among people. Corruption in the education system lowers down the standard of education. All these personal and corporate or institutional corruption seriously harms the image of the county, causes social and political instability, increases economic and social crimes and also discrimination and disorder in the society. These, in the long run, hamper the social and economic development of the country. Study shows that corruption is responsible for about 2% of GDP decrease and about 40% of our development budget is either misused or wasted due to corruption.

People’s ethical sense should be strengthened, For this a good an education system that stresses creating morality is necessary. Consciousness about corruption and fighting against corruption is also necessary. Corrupt officials and politicians should be severely punished. We should have good and effective laws for preventing corruption. A just and equal social and judicial system is necessary. we have to remove social injustice, social gap and the wide gap between wealth and poverty. Besides, Anti-corruption and prevent it. People’s patriotism and ethical sense should be developed. Corruption is a social malady. So it can be checked by social awareness and efforts.

Corruption is a matter of national disgrace. It is also a social vice. Due to corruption, only a handful of people gain, but the majority of the people suffer. It has now become a serious national problem. We must remove or curb corruption from the society to build a society based on equality, justice, and fraternity.

শবে কদরের ফজিলত ও আমলের নিয়ম।

মাহে রমজানে শবে কদরের রাত ইসলামি শরীয়াত এর দিক ‍দিয়ে অনেক বড় । এ রাতে সূরা কদরের মাধ্যমে ইসলামি গ্রন্থ আল কুরআর নাজিল হয়েছে। এ রাতকে মহান আল্লাহ নিজেই হাজার মাসের চেয়ে উত্তম বলে ঘোষনা করেছে। এ রাতকে যে কাছে লাগাতে পারেনি আল্লাহর প্রিয় নবী তাকে বড় হতভাগা বলেছেন। উম্মতগন চাইলে এ রাতকে যথাযত ভাবে কাজে লাগাতে পারেন। এ রাতে প্রত্যেকটি আমল আল্লাহর দরবারে গ্রহিত হয় । এ রাতে কেবল কয়েক শ্রেনীর মানুষ ছাড়া বাকি সবার দোয়া কবুল হয়।

শবে কদদের নামাজের ‍নিয়ম।

শবে কদরে নফল নামাজ পড়া উত্তম ইবাদাত। নফল নামাজ সম্পর্কে তাফসিরে রুহুল বয়ানে উল্লেখ আছে, হযরত ইসমাইল হাক্কী (র) বলেছেন: বুজুর্গানে দ্বীনগন দশদিনের বেজোর রাতগুলোতে শবে কদরের নিয়তে নফল নামাজ পড়তেন।

প্রসিদ্ধ ফকিহ আবুল লাইস সমরকন্দী (র) বলেন: শবে কদরের নামাজের প্রত্যেক রাকাতে সূরা ফাতেহার পর সূরা কদর ও ‍তিনবার সূরা এখলাস পড়া উত্তম। প্রত্যেক দুই রাকাতের পর সালাম ফিরিয়ে দরুদ শরীফ পাঠ করা তারপর দুই রাকাত করে যে যত নিয়ত করবে তত রাকাত নফল নামাজ আদায় করে নওয়া। ( তাফসিরে রুহুল বয়ান, ১০ খন্ড, ৪৮৩ পাতা।)

তবে প্রসিদ্ধমত হচ্ছে এশার নামাজের পর দুই রাকাত করে ১২ রাকাত নফল নামাজ পড়া । নফল নামাজ এশার নাশার নামাজের পর আদায় করা যাবে।

শবে কদর সম্পর্কিত সহিহ হাদিস।

আবূ সাঈদ খুদরী (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) (প্রতি) মাসের মধ্যবর্তী দশ দিন ই’তিকাফ করতেন। যখন বিংশতিতম রাত অতিবাহিত হওয়ার এবং একবিংশতিতম রাতের আগমনের সময় হত তিনি তাঁর ঘরে ফিরে আসতেন এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে যারা ই’তিকাফ করতেন তারাও ফিরে আসতেন। তারপর তিনি অন্য এক সাথে, যে মাসে ই’তিকাফ করেছিলেন ঐ রাতেও রয়ে গেলেন যে রাতে তিনি ঘরে ফিরে আসতেন এবং লোকদের সামনে খুতবা দিলেন। তাঁদেরকে আল্লাহর ইচ্ছানুযায়ী আদেশ করলেন। তারপর বললেন, আমি এই মধ্যবর্তী দশদিন ই’তিকাফ করতাম, পরে আমার কাছে প্রকাশ পেল যে, আমি এই শেষ দশ দিনেও ই’তিকাফ করি, অতএব জারা আমার সাথে গত মধ্যবর্তী দশদিন ই’তিকাফ করেছ তাঁরা স্বীয় ই’তিকাফের স্থানে স্থির থাকবে। আমি এই শবে কদরকে স্বপ্নে দেখেছিলাম কিন্তু আমাকে তা ভুলিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছে, অতএব তোমরা তা এই শেষ দশ রাতে প্রত্যেক বেজোড় রাতে তালাশ করো। স্বপ্নে আমাকে দেখলাম যে, আমি পানি এবং কাদার মধ্যে সিজদা করছি। আবূ সাঈদ (রাঃ)বলেন, আমাদের উপর একবিংশতিতম রাতে বৃষ্টি হল, বৃষ্টির পানি মসজিদে রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) এর সালাত আদায় করার জায়গার উপর দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হয়ে গেল। আমি তাঁর দিকে লক্ষ্য করলাম যে, তিনি ফজরের সালাত থেকে সালাম ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছেন, আর তাঁর চেহারা পানি ও কাদা দ্বারা আপ্লুত ছিল।

আবূ হুরাইরা (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

তিনি বলেন, আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) এরশাদ করেনঃ যে ব্যক্তি ঈমানের সঙ্গে নেকির আশায় কদরের রাতে ইবাদতের মধ্যে রাত্রি জাগবে, তার পূর্বের গুনাহ্‌ ক্ষমা করে দেয়া হবে।

‘উবাদাহ ইব্‌নু সামিত (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) লায়লাতুল কদ্‌র সম্পর্কে জানানোর জন্য বের হলেন। তখন দু’জন মুসলমান বিবাদ করছিল। তিনি বললেনঃ আমি তোমাদের লাইলাতুল কদ্‌র সম্পর্কে জানানোর জন্য বেরিয়েছিলাম; কিন্তু তখন অমুক অমুক বিবাদে লিপ্ত থাকায় তা (লাইলাতুল কদরের নির্দিষ্ট তারিখ সম্পর্কিত জ্ঞান) উঠিয়ে নেয়া হয়েছে। আর হয়তো বা এটাই তোমাদের জন্য মঙ্গলজনক হবে। তোমরা তা অনুসন্ধান কর (রমযানের) ২৭, ২৯ ও ২৫ তম রাতে।

ইব্‌নু ‘উমর (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

সাহাবীগণ আল্লাহ্‌র রাসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম)-এর নিকট (তাঁদের দেখা ) স্বপ্নের বর্ণনা দিলেন। লাইলাতুল কদর রমযানের শেষ দশকের সপ্তম রাতে। তখন নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বললেনঃ আমি মনে করি যে, ( লাইলাতুল কদর শেষ দশকে হবার ব্যাপারে ) তোমাদের স্বপ্নগুলোর মধ্যে পরস্পর মিল রয়েছে। কাজেই যে ব্যক্তি লাইলাতুল কদ্‌রের অনুসন্ধান করতে চায় সে যেন তা শেয দশকে অনুসন্ধান করে।

সহিহ বুখারী, হাদিস নং ১১৫৮

ইব্‌নু ‘উমর (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) - এর কতিপয় সাহাবীকে স্বপ্নের মাধ্যমে রমযানের শেষের সাত রাত্রে লাইলাতুল কদর দেখানো হয়। (এ শুনে) আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বললেনঃ আমাকেও তোমাদের স্বপ্নের অনুরূপ দেখানো হয়েছে। (তোমাদের দেখা ও আমার দেখা) শেষ সাত দিনের ক্ষেত্রে মিলে গেছে। অতএব যে ব্যক্তি এর সন্ধান প্রত্যাশী, সে যেন শেষ সাত রাতে সন্ধান করে।

সহিহ বুখারী, হাদিস নং ২০১৫

‘আয়িশা (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

তিনি বলেন, আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) রমযানের শেষ দশকে ইতিকাফ করতেন এবং বলতেনঃ তোমরা রমযানের শেষ দশকে [৩] লাইলাতুল কদর অনুসন্ধান কর।

ফুটনোটঃ
[৩] আল্লাহ তায়ালা কুরআনুল কারীমের সূরা ক্বদরে ঘোষণা করেছেন- লাইলাতুল ক্বদর হাজার মাসের (ইবাদাতের) চেয়েও উত্তম। সহীহ শুদ্ধ হাদীস থেকে জানা যায় যে, লাইলাতুল ক্বদর রমযানের শেষ দশ দিনের যে কোন বিজোড় রাত্রিতে হয়ে থাকে। বিভিন্ন সহীহ হাদীসে ২১, ২৩, ২৫, ২৭ ও ২৯ তারিখে লাইলাতুল ক্বদর অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার কথা উল্লেখিত আছে। হাদীসে এ কথাও উল্লেখিত আছে, যে কোন একটি নির্দিষ্ট বিজোড় রাত্রিতেই তা হয় না। (অর্থাৎ কোন বছরে ২৫ তারিখে হল, আবার কোন বছরে ২১ তারিখে হল এভাবে। আমাদের দেশে সরকারী আর বেসরকারীভাবে জাঁকজমকের সঙ্গে ২৭ তারিখের রাত্রিকে লাইলাতুল ক্বদরের রাত হিসেবে পালন করা হয়। এভাবে মাত্র একটি রাত্রিকে লাইলাতুল ক্বদর সাব্যস্ত করার কোনই হাদীস নাই। লাইলাতুল ক্বদরের সওয়াব পেতে চাইলে ৫টি বিজোড় রাত্রেই তালাশ করতে হবে।
বর্তমানে রাত্রি জাগরণের জন্য মসজিদে সকলে সমবেত হয়ে বিভিন্ন ওয়াজ মাহফিলের যে ব্যবস্থা করা হয়ে থাকে সেটিও নবাবিষ্কৃত কাজ। কারণ আল্লাহর নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) তাঁর সময়ে সাহাবীদের নিয়ে মসজিদে জাগরিত হয়ে বর্তমানে প্রচলিত পদ্ধতিতে ইবাদত না করে নিজ নিজ পরিবারকে জাগিয়ে কিয়ামুল লাইল পালন করতেন।

আবূ সা’ঈদ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

তিনি বলেন, আমরা নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) - এর সঙ্গে রমযানের মধ্যম দশকে ই’তিকাফ করি। তিনি বিশ তারিখের সকালে বের হয়ে আমাদেরকে সম্বোধন করে বললেনঃ আমাকে লাইলাতুল কদর (-এর সঠিক তারিখ) দেখানো হয়েছিল পরে আমাকে তা ভুলিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছে। তোমরা শেষ দশকের বেজোড় রাতে তার সন্ধান কর। আমি দেখতে পেয়েছি যে, আমি (ঐ রাতে) কাদা-পানিতে সিজদা করছি। অতএব যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) - এর সঙ্গে ই’তিকাফ করেছে সে যেন ফিরে আসে (মসজিদ হতে বের হয়ে না যায়)। আমরা সকলে ফিরে আসলাম (থেকে গেলাম)। আমরা আকাশে হাল্কা মেঘ খন্ডও দেখতে পাইনি। পরে মেঘ দেখা দিল ও এমন জোরে বৃষ্টি হলো যে, খেজুরের শাখায় তৈরী মসজিদের ছাদ দিয়ে পানি ঝরতে লাগল। সালাত শুরু করা হলে আমি আল্লাহর রসূল (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) - কে কাদা-পানিতে সিজদা করতে দেখলাম। পরে তাঁর কপালে আমি কাদার চিহ্ন দেখতে পাই।

নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বলেছেন যে, তোমরা (লাইলাতুল কদর) অনুসন্ধান কর।

রাসুলুল্লাহ্‌ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বলেছেনঃ যে ব্যাক্তি আল্লাহ তা’আলার উপর দূঢ় বিশ্বাস রেখে সওয়াবের নিয়তে তারাবীহ্‌র সালাত (নামায/নামাজ) আদায় করে, তার পূর্বাপর সমস্ত গুনাহ ক্ষমা করে দেওয়া হয়। আর যে ব্যক্তি আল্লাহ তা’আলার উপর দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস রেখে সওয়াবের নিয়তে কদরের রাত্রে জাগ্রত থাকে, তার পূর্বাপৃর সমস্ত গুনাহ ক্ষমা করে দেওয়া হয়।

আবূ হুরায়রাহ্ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:
তিনি বলেন, রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ যে ব্যক্তি ঈমানের সাথে ও সাওয়াব লাভের আশায় রমাযান (রমজান) মাসে সিয়াম পালন করবে, তার আগের সব গুনাহ ক্ষমা করে দেয়া হবে। আর যে ব্যক্তি ঈমানের সাথে ও সাওয়াব লাভের আশায় ‘ইবাদাতে রাত কাটাবে, তার আগের সব গুনাহ ক্ষমা করে দেয়া হবে। আর যে ব্যক্তি ঈমানের সাথে ও সাওয়াব লাভের আশায় লায়লাতুল কদরে ‘ইবাদাতে কাটাবে তারও আগের সব গুনাহ ক্ষমা করা হবে। (বুখারী, মুসলিম)[১]

যির ইবনু হুবায়শ (রাঃ) থেকে বর্ণিতঃ:

তিনি বলেন, আমি উবাই ইবনু কা‘বকে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, আপনার (দীনী) ভাই ‘আবদুল্লাহ ইবনু মাস্‘ঊদ বলেন, যে ব্যক্তি গোটা বছর ‘ইবাদাত করার জন্য রাত জাগরণ করবে, সে ‘কদর রজনী’ পাবে। উবাই ইবনু কা‘ব বললেন, আল্লাহ তা‘আলা ইবনু মাস‘ঊদ এর ওপর রহম করুন। তিনি এ কথাটা এজন্য বলেছেন, যেন মানুষ ভরসা করে বসে না থাকে। নতুবা তিনি তো জানেন যে, ‘কদর’ রমাযান (রমজান) মাসেই আসে। আর রমাযান (রমজান) মাসের শেষ দশ দিনের এক রাতে কদর রজনী হয়। সে রাতটা সাতাশতম রাত। এদিকে উবাই ইবনু কা‘ব কসম করেছেন এবং ‘ইনশা-আল্ল-হ’ বলা ছাড়াই বলেছেন, ‘নিঃসন্দেহে কদর রাত (রমাযানের) সাতাশতম রাত’। আমি আরয করলাম, হে আবূল মুনযির (উবাই-এর ডাক নাম)! কিসের ভিত্তিতে আপনি এ কথা বলেছেন? তিনি বললেন, ঐ আলামাত ও আয়াতের ভিত্তিতে, যা আমাদেরকে রসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন। (তিনি বলেছেন), ঐ রাতের সকালে সূর্য উদয় হবে, কিন্তু এতে কিরণ বা আলো থাকবে না। (মুসলিম)[১]
